    • Bus: Start by boarding a bus from Babughat or the Esplanade Bus Terminus in Kolkata. The journey to Kakdwip takes about 3 hours. From Kakdwip, cross the Muriganga River by boat to reach Kachuberia. Finally, take a bus from Kachuberia to Gangasagar (approximately 1 hour).
    • Car: If you prefer a more private mode of transportation, you can drive from Kolkata to Gangasagar. There are two main routes:
      • NH12 via Usthi Road: This route covers approximately 117.4 kilometers and takes around 3.3 hours.
      • SH1 via Eastern Metropolitan Bypass: This route is slightly longer, approximately 131.6 kilometers, and takes around 3.7 hours.
  2. By Air:
    • The nearest airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU), located about 142 kilometers away from Gangasagar. From the airport, take a cab or bus to Kakdwip (35.5 kilometers), and then complete the rest of the journey by ferry.
  3. By Train:
    • You can take a train from Sealdah to either Kakdwip or Namkhana. However, the rail connectivity to Gangasagar is limited. From either station, you’ll still need to combine taxi, bus, and ferry to reach Sagardwip.
