Geeta Shlok in Hindi
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: तुम्हारा अधिकार केवल कर्म करने में है, फल में कभी नहीं। तुम्हारे कर्मों के फल के कारण मत बनो, और न ही तुम कर्महीनता को अपनाओ।
English Translation: Your right is to perform your duty only, but never to its fruits. Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction.
देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा।
तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: जैसे इस देह में जीवात्मा की कुमार, युवा और वृद्धावस्था होती है, वैसे ही वह एक देह को त्याग कर दूसरे देह को प्राप्त होता है। धीर पुरुष इसमें मोहित नहीं होते।
English Translation: Just as the soul acquires childhood, youth, and old age in this body, so does it acquire another body. The wise are not deluded by this.
य एनं वेत्ति हन्तारं यश्चैनं मन्यते हतम्।
उभौ तौ न विजानीतो नायं हन्ति न हन्यते॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: जो इसे मारने वाला समझता है और जो इसे मरा हुआ मानता है, वे दोनों ही नहीं जानते। यह न मारता है और न मारा जाता है।
English Translation: He who thinks that the soul kills, and he who thinks of it as killed, are both ignorant. The soul kills not, nor is it killed.
न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचिन्
नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः।
अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो
न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: यह आत्मा न कभी जन्म लेती है और न कभी मरती है। यह न उत्पन्न होती है और न ही फिर से उत्पन्न होगी। यह अजन्मा, नित्य, शाश्वत और पुरातन है। शरीर के मारे जाने पर भी यह नहीं मारी जाती।
English Translation: The soul is never born, nor does it die; nor, having once existed, does it ever cease to be. The soul is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying, and primeval. It is not slain when the body is slain.
Bhagwat Geeta Sanskrit Shlok in Hindi
वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय
नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि।
तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णा-
न्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: जैसे मनुष्य पुराने वस्त्रों को त्यागकर नए वस्त्र धारण करता है, वैसे ही आत्मा पुराने शरीरों को त्यागकर नए शरीर धारण करती है।
English Translation: As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.
नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः।
न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: इस आत्मा को शस्त्र काट नहीं सकते, अग्नि जला नहीं सकती, जल गीला नहीं कर सकता और वायु सुखा नहीं सकती।
English Translation: The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.
देही नित्यमवध्योऽयं देहे सर्वस्य भारत।
तस्मात्सर्वाणि भूतानि न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: हे भारत, यह आत्मा सभी शरीरों में नित्य अवध्य है। इसलिए तुम सभी प्राणियों के लिए शोक नहीं करना चाहिए।
English Translation: O Bharata, the soul residing in the body is eternal and indestructible. Therefore, you should not grieve for any living being.
यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः।
तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसंगः समाचर॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: यज्ञ के लिए किए गए कर्मों के अलावा अन्य कर्म इस संसार में बंधन का कारण बनते हैं। इसलिए हे कौन्तेय, आसक्ति रहित होकर उस उद्देश्य के लिए कर्म करो।
English Translation: Work done as a sacrifice for Vishnu has to be performed; otherwise, work binds one to this material world. Therefore, O son of Kunti, perform your prescribed duties for His satisfaction, and in that way, you will always remain free from bondage.
तस्मादसक्तः सततं कार्यं कर्म समाचर।
असक्तो ह्याचरन्कर्म परमाप्नोति पूरुषः॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: इसलिए, आसक्ति रहित होकर सदा अपना कर्तव्य कर्म करो। आसक्ति रहित होकर कर्म करने से मनुष्य परम सिद्धि प्राप्त करता है।
English Translation: Therefore, without being attached to the fruits of activities, one should act as a matter of duty, for by working without attachment, one attains the Supreme.
यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत।
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम्॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: हे भारत, जब-जब धर्म की हानि और अधर्म की वृद्धि होती है, तब-तब मैं अपने रूप को प्रकट करता हूँ।
English Translation: Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness, O Bharata, at that time I manifest myself on earth.
परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम्।
धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: साधुओं की रक्षा और दुष्टों के विनाश के लिए, तथा धर्म की स्थापना के लिए, मैं युग-युग में प्रकट होता हूँ।
English Translation: To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I advent myself millennium after millennium.
चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः।
तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम्॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: चार वर्णों का विभाजन मैंने गुण और कर्म के अनुसार किया है। यद्यपि मैं इसका कर्ता हूँ, फिर भी मुझे अकर्ता और अविनाशी समझो।
English Translation: The four divisions of human society were created by Me according to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them. And although I am the creator of this system, you should know that I am yet the non-doer, being unchangeable.
तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया।
उपदेक्ष्यन्ति ते ज्ञानं ज्ञानिनस्तत्त्वदर्शिनः॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: उस ज्ञान को जानने के लिए, विनम्रता से गुरुओं के पास जाओ, उनसे प्रश्न करो और उनकी सेवा करो। वे ज्ञान में स्थित ज्ञानी तुम्हें उस ज्ञान का उपदेश देंगे।
English Translation: Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.
विद्याविनयसम्पन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि।
शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: जो विद्या और विनय से सम्पन्न हैं, वे ब्राह्मण, गाय, हाथी, कुत्ते और चांडाल में समान दृष्टि रखते हैं।
English Translation: The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and a dog-eater (outcaste).
कर्मेन्द्रियाणि संयम्य य आस्ते मनसा स्मरन्।
इन्द्रियार्थान्विमूढात्मा मिथ्याचारः स उच्यते॥
हिंदी अनुवाद: जो मूढ़ बुद्धि मनुष्य समस्त इन्द्रियों को हठपूर्वक ऊपर से रोककर मन से उन इन्द्रियों के विषयों का चिन्तन करता रहता है, वह मिथ्याचारी कहा जाता है।
English Translation: The foolish person who stubbornly suppresses all the senses and keeps thinking about the objects of those senses in his mind is called a liar.
